Summer 2006

KISW: The Growth Continues!

In the spring edition of the KISW Rock Report we reviewed the BJ Shea Morning Experience's success in maintaining the Howard Stern audience, when every other post-Howard station in America lost ground in morning drive. A fantastic accomplishment to say the least! Of course that was just one Arbitron book... with the release of the spring Arbitron, KISW's position grew significantly in every male demographic of importance including Men 18-34, 18-49, 25-54. KISW dominated in every primary daypart! Each KISW personality shared in this success, the BJ Shea Morning Experience (5-10am), Ricker (10am - 2pm), The Mens Room (2-6pm) and Jolene (6-10pm).

The strategy of a personality driven rock format is striking a resonant cord with many! The most important part of this success is the incredibly effective commercial friendly environment that we've created for our customers, those of you who rely on KISW as a criticial component of your marketing campaigns.

The BJ Shea Morning Experience

Taking their show on the road to Cheney Stadium the BJ Shea Morning Experience will provide an in depth look for the upcoming season as they interview players coaches and fans live at the preseason camp August 22nd - 24th.

2006 Rock Girl Calendar

The 2006 edition of the Rock Girl Gala was a resounding success. 25 beautiful candidates, three bands and 1200 raving fans (complete sell out) came together at The Showbox for the 4th Annual Rock Girl Gala.

Upcoming Events

Throughout the year KISW undertakes numerous projects to raise money and awareness for a variety of local community and charitable organizations. We take our responsibility of being a good corporate citizen seriously. One of our biggest events is “Rock Out Hunger’ which benefits Northwest Harvest, a community food bank that donates thousands of pounds of food all year long to the families who are most in need.

On September 21st, 99.9 KISW will broadcast live from Azteca's Federal Way location to generate food donations from our listeners. KISW will invite listeners though a heavy on air campaign to stop by the “Rock Out Hunger” event and donate a bag of food to Northwest Harvest. In exchange for the food donations, listeners will receive a free ticket to see Godsmack, Rob Zombie and Shinedown when they play the White River Amphitheater on September 27th. A total of 1,000 tickets will be available for food donations. KISW will begin broadcasting live during The BJ Shea Morning Experience and continue until all of the 1,000 free tickets are gone.

It appears that KISW's revamped line-up has captured the pulse of Seattle's Men. Along this line of thought, I've included a 2 page article from FMQB, one of the radio industries' leading trade magazines that interviewed the BJ Shea Morning Experience. I think you'll enjoy the read, click here for the article. Great personality, The best rock and roll music and a strong street marketing presence has been our formula for success! Once again, thank you for your belief in KISW, our commitment to delivering results for you and your clients remains steadfast!

See you next issue!
